Tutta la Familia: Portrait of a Sicilian Café in America.

Amsterdam: Lecturis, 2019. Item #919

Oblong 4to.  240 x 290 mm., [9 ½ x 11 ½ inches].  10 pp. text, 60 photographic illustrations.  Original boards, photo illustrated cover.

A photographic slice of life, of a small, intimate café in Gloucester, Massachusetts, that almost disappeared with the passage of generations.  Goldberg’s photos capture the ordinary and sometime mundane activity of the café’s life and the people who frequent it with their families and pisani.  “They are indeed intimate images; candid portraits of my Sicilian American neighbors and their culture.  But they are also about the city of Gloucester and the American experience early in the twenty-first century.”  Frank Viviano writes a heart felt appreciation of the people who saved this piece of Gloucester culture.

Price: $50.00
