Post-War introduction of 19th century Italian painters to the American public, sponsored by Wildenstein Galleries of New York.  Includes the work of 41 Italian painters, each represented with illustrations of their work and reference citations to their exhibition history.  This is the first exhibition in America of the work of these painters and demonstrate that Italian painting did not end with Tiepolo, Piazzetta, Canaletto, and Guardi.  Very informative introduction of the scope of 19th century Italian painting by Giovanni Poggi.  Catalogue descriptions and biographical information by Enrico Somaré.
