New York: Mahlon Day, 1833. Chapbook. 110 x 65 mm. (4 1/4 x 2 1/2 inches). 16 pp. Paper wrappers with a list of books for sale by M. Day on the back. Illustrated with 15 woodcuts and short descriptions of domesticated animals such as the horse, the cow, and various breeds of dogs. Previous owner's name written on title page. Edges a bit worn and toned. Cover partially separated but still attached.

Publisher Mahlon Day printed books in New York City from 1816 to 1844. Starting around 1822 he began to publish little children's books, such as this one, for which he is best known.
