Francis Russell (1910-1989) was an American author of books on American history. Sacco & Vanzetti: The Case Resolved was published as a follow-up to his earlier book on the Sacco-Vanzetti case: Tragedy in Dedham (1962). It signified the conclusion of Russell’s nearly twenty-five years of research on the topic and claimed to resolve the case based on new evidence that had been released by the FBI and, more importantly, new testimony by the relatives of one of the crime’s accomplices.
