New York: Italy America Society, 1920-1926. Item #1289 Small 8vo. 21 x 13mm [8 ¼ x 5 ¼ inches]. Four pages each, consisting of two bifolds stapled as pamphlet. Issues 7 and 8 on blue stock; all other issues on off-white medium stock; issue 11 has a blue insert: “New Members Wanted.” All copies in remarkably solid and uncompromised condition, with only the slightest soiling or browning. All from the collection of the Minnesota (or Minneapolis?) Historical Society, with “Withdrawn” stamp in red on upper right of front page.
First Issues, in two runs: Issues 7-17 (Nov. 1920 -Mar. 1922) and Issues 33-44 (Nov. 1924-Oct. 1926). A wonderful sampler of the Italian-American scene in the 1920s. The pamphlets present a version of “Constabulary Notes from All Over” for Italian-Americans: self-respecting, dignified, and aspirational. Topics range from art exhibits to events in the Old Country, student and professorial exchanges, well-wishes from leaders and supporters in Washington and Rome, “A Parcel of Books from Italy,” “Italy Loses Her First Queen,” and changes in local branch leadership
