First edition of three of Agostino Bassi’s new research papers presented before the Degli Scienziati Italiani.  Most noted for his research on wine and cheese, Bassi’s agricultural research extended to many fields including study of the growing properties of the potato and the tomato.  In these essays, he tackles the difficult problem of infection of vines and small trees and makes recommendations for the prevention.  As one would expect, he prefaces each essay with a short history of wine and mulberry trees, with references and annotations of other scholarly research in the field.  The final leaf of this pamphlet is a list of Bassi’s other published works, each with individual prices.
