First editions of Rossi’s three manuals for making wine, a veritable complete guide for the cultivation of vines in the French manor and making stable, long aging wines.  Written partially as a critique of the poorly crafted vinos of Tuscany, Rossi challenges local wine makers to take the best practices from the French and apply them to Tuscan terroir.  In his Memoria Rossi provides comparative methods for caring for vines, grafting varieties, and maintaining the soil used by winemakers in Burgundy, Alicante, Málaga, Tokji and others.  His study of French or Burgundian winemaking begins with scathing critic of the methods used by Tuscan makers and expands into a tutorial on French style of making subtle claret that would compliments the cuisine of Tuscany.  Giuseppe de Rossi was the author of numerous books on wine making, and in addition to his manuals, wrote on the impact of climate and place on wine cultivation.
